How to beat the gym leader of petalburg city ( norman )he's very strong.?

Just train your pokemon well. make sure(if you choose torchic) you train it to at least lvl 35 and you can trash him. (if mudkip) train till it learns take down and you can also trash him. Best to get fighting of course but it dosnt really matter, just trash him with high levelled pokemon.
