If you could transform into any animal what would it be?

I'm writing a short story and well I want one of my characters to be a rare animal shifter, but I don't know what animal. The person lives in the snowy mountain kind of place, so his animal form helps with that terrain. So if you could be any animal what would you want to be, and what kind of fur color would you have?
