If your dealing with police for any reason at all (good, bad, indecisive) can you get in trouble for this?

For having a knife on you. Not for pulling it out and threatening with it, just for having it in your pocket. Regardless of the type of knife, fixed, multitool, isted opening..the list goes on. Mainly, I'm just wondering if you're more likely to get in more trouble for having it with you.
